Yesu Ashram, Padariya

The foundation stone of Yesu Ashram, a brain child of Fr. Paul Pattathu, was blessed on February 5, 2005, in the Birth Bicentenary year of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Pascal Topno SJ, the then Archbishop of Bhopal. The foundation stone was laid by the then Provincial Fr. Louis Malieckal, in the presence of many priests, religious and other dignitaries. Yesu Ashram was blessed and inaugurated by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Pascal Topno in the presence of Fr. George Thanchan, the then Provincial on July 9, 2006.

Yesu Ashram is the first Catholic Ashram in the Bhopal Archdiocese with an Indian approach. It aims at filling the vacuum of a Spiritual Renewal Centre for Priests, Religious and for the people of all walks of life from all religions in and around Bhopal and even beyond territorial limits. Yesu Ashram is an abode of quiet prayer, deep reflections and harmony with the divine and the human. Unique in its set up, structure and eco-friendly atmosphere, Yesu Ashram offers an atmosphere of prayer, silence and solitude. Programmes offered here include classes on Indian Spirituality, Ashram Spirituality, Retreat and Allied Spiritual Exercises and Guidance. When Christ College was shifted to the new campus of the restructured CMI Bhavan, Padariya adjacent to Yesu Ashram, in 2019, the Fathers in the college staff have started residing in the Yesu Ashram.
