Christ College, Bhopal

Christ College, Bhopal was founded in 2001. The long-cherished dream of the members of St. Paul Province, Bhopal began to sprout up in 2001, when late Fr. Louis Malieckal was the Provincial and Fr. John Ollukaran was the Education Councillor. His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Pascal Topno SJ, the then Archbishop of Bhopal granted the consent to start the College. It was on August 13, 2001 that Christ College, Bhopal was formally inaugurated. Christ College initiated B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses in 2004 and 2010 respectively. Christ College is the only Teacher Training College under Barkatullah University, Bhopal, accredited with ‘A’ grade by NACC in 2014. The Provincial Synaxis in 2017 decided to relocate the College to the renovated CMI Bhavan, Padariya, within three years. The new College building was blessed by Rev. Fr. Justin Akkara, the Provincial on October 24, 2019. Fr. Joby Pulikkan, the then provincial Coucillor for Education and Fr. Johnson Kannanaickal, the principal, played a pivotal role in the relocation of the college to the present site. They where ably supported by Fr. Johnshibu Pallipatt, who took the initiative in rectifying the land documents.
