On April 8, 1988 the foundation stone for the school was laid by His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Eugene D'Souza, the then Archbishop of Bhopal. In the same year school was also started. This is the first institution of the Province outside the Sagar Diocese. Fathers were residing in the school building for many years till a separate residence was built. In the year 1997 the residence was declared a formal house. The school had a very humble beginning with 14 students. In 2000, it became a full fledged Senior Secondary School affiliated to CBSE Delhi. Now with over 4000 students and 200 staff, the school plays a pivotal role in the educational scenario of Bhopal by being one of the Premier Educational Institutions of the Archdiocese. Religious Congregations of St. Joseph’s Sisters of Chambery, Sisters of Jesus, Holy Family, SABS, JMJ and OSF played a significant role in nurturing the school down through the years. At present the Sisters from the Congregation of MSMHC of Tezpur Province are assisting in its smooth functioning. Along with the English medium school, St. Paul Co-Ed School has a full fledged Hindi Medium wing up to the 8th class to cater to the socially and economically deprived sections of the society as part of the Education Policy of the Province, to provide quality education to the marginalised. The vision of the school is “to become a Centre of Excellence and to Create Global Citizens and Visionary Leaders who function as Catalysts in different spheres of life and this could be achieved by drawing the best from each student by providing an enabling and caring environment”.
