Carmel Niketan, Jabalpur

As it became very difficult for our scholastics to pursue their graduation courses in Sagar University as per the rules (age bar), six of them got the admission in St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur in 1998 while staying in a house known as Sullivan's House, owned by the Diocese of Jabalpur. Later on the present house was purchased and the Scholastics began to stay here till 2001. From 2001 to 2004, two batches of Pre-Novitiate candidates pursued their +2 studies here as decided by the then Provincial Administration. From the year 2005 onwards this house has been converted as the Scholasticate for the Post-Novitiate Scholastics to pursue their college studies in compliance with the decision of the Provincial Synaxis, in April 2005. In 2015 after a gap of 3 years, from 2011-14, the Scholastics started the college studies here with Fr. Dominic Nattunilath as their Rector. Fr. Saju Kollannoor initiated the process of a new building for Carmel Niketan. In 2017 the old building was demolished and the foundation stone of the new building was blessed by Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Jerald Almeida, of the Diocese of Jabalpur, in August 2017, in the presence of Fr. Justin Akkara, the Provincial. The present building was blessed and inaugurated on July 23, 2019 when Fr. Vincent Chalakkal was the Rector.
